Professor Brian Dolan

Director, Health Service 360

Professor Brian Dolan is Director of Health Service 360 (UK) and Director of Service Improvement, Canterbury District Health Board, NZ where his role includes whole system culture engagement and change

He has published over 80 papers in a range of journals and is author/editor of six books, mainly on emergency care. He holds Masters degrees in nursing and education.

In 2016, Brian was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts, London in recognition of his contribution to nursing. He is a Visiting Professor of Nursing at the Oxford Institute for Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Research (OxINMAHR) and Honorary Professor of Leadership in Healthcare at Salford University, Manchester.

Brian has created a social movement called #EndPJparalysis which is about getting patients up, dressed and moving while in hospital to reduce the risk of deconditioning and other related risk. By May 2017, it had gained >70 million impressions on Twitter.
